Description
So… I've had this happen enough times that there 'really' isn't any excuse at this point… but it's still maddening to lose everything that you've written into a post, simply because some random action refreshed, navigated away, or closed the page you were typing your text into. It's kind of sick to think that I 'need' to have a separate application constantly running to allow me to type into it without the fear of losing my text. It's also frustrating to have to copy and paste every time I want to write something out longer than a few sentences. All of these things upset me, and it's even more maddening that at this day and age, there's not an in-built solution for this problem. Specific Sites are left to create an auto-save feature for the "Drafts" that people are working on… while the browser plays ignorant. I mean come on! I can wiggle my mouse to tell my browser to load, navigate, and change it's page. Why can't I click a button to keep my browser from eating my words. ;?
The search for a 'lightweight' solution though has come up with an interesting piece of software. It's called MetroTextual [link] , and it a small, visually appealing notepad replacement that has an "Always on Top" toggle, almost no "Border" (Truly a visual thing, but I like it's style. ), and happens to offer some light syntax highlighting if I ever get to the point that that matters to me. So we'll see if I like it enough to use it for this purpose... Bah... No Dictionary Support... so while I may like it's style, I don't think I'll us it beyond this post. ;?
Now to 'hopefully' channel some of what I'd originally said, I didn't get home until late, and this was the first thing that caught my eye. My Roomie goes through Lego Binges where he'll buy a few models, put them together, and then nothing for quite some time. Also, it's unfortunate that I didn't have the camera with me today. I had originally intended to bring it, but forgot it in the morning. ;? Now, I don't know if I'm suffering from "White Van Syndrome" (My name for the mental device wherin after "Buying a White Van", you suddenly see them everywhere, even though you'd never noticed them before), but while I was out today, I noticed someone with a nice camera, and they were taking "Street" shots. I was quite jealous.
[Photo Observation] I would have liked this a 'little' straighter, and would have preferred there be a bit better focus on the bottom, but the shot at least came out 'mostly' as I'd intended it. Definitely shows that it was a "Point and Shoot" shot, but it's not offensively bad.
