[49] Always On...

It's funny, I caught myself doing this earlier today, and I knew what my shot would be for tonight. I'm probably worse about this than most, but it seems we as a culture are moving more and more towards this "Always On" style of life. I for example am mildly frustrated any time I have to 'Wait' for any length of time, where I am unable to be doing something 'Productive'. And the definition of 'Productive' is of course, conveniently loose. >.>

For example, when I was commuting to work each day to a job that had me doing rote mechanical tasks, where I was allowed to wear an MP3 Player, I procured a series of "Language Tapes" to try and spend that time "Learning". (I'm not wired right for that, and 'that' particular project crashed and burned... but it's the thought I'm going for here! ) And any time I know I'll be 'Standing Around' for a length of time (Even when I know that time will be 'Minutes'), I tend to ensure I have either a book, or my phone available to fill the time. It's actually almost quite sad. >.>

That said, one of my 'Goals' (There I go... using that dirty word here... ;?) this year is to improve the quality of my life. As this isn't the kind of calculation that can be done empirically (As Empirically, I've got it pretty good... ;?), this will take a bit of figuring out. Who knows how well I'll succeed, but here's hoping. I will say that forcibly introducing time for me to produce the dross that I've been able to this year has been wonderful, and even though I'm making less money than I have in quite some time... I'm happy for this change at least.

[Photo Observation] So... I don't even think I rightly captured my theme, which kind of means the picture is failed before I even get to pick it apart. But I don't want to ignore the problems here, soooo.... The shot is crooked. The lighting is 'better' than it initially was, but I will need to figure out a 'Real' lighting solution at some point. (Flexible Head Lamps [link] with the right bulbs or maybe something like this [link] , we'll see...) and it's not obvious that I'm "Getting Up". I should have done a better job elongating my pose, and possibly taken the shot from further out. ;? Also... 'Focus'...
